Jingdezhen Ceramic Sculpture "Blessed Horse Welcoming Spring" Shines at 2026 CCTV Spring Festival Gala

On Chinese New Year’s Eve 2026, the grand CCTV Spring Festival Gala was broadcast worldwide. The ceramic sculpture "Blessed Horse Welcoming Spring" from Jingdezhen made a stunning appearance on the stage, becoming a cultural highlight attracting global attention. This marks the third consecutive year that Jingdezhen ceramic culture has been featured on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, following "Porcelain Shadow" in 2024 and the Blue and White Spring Bowl in 2025. The thousand-year-old porcelain capital demonstrates traditional Chinese ceramic art to the world with exquisite craftsmanship.

The "Blessed Horse Welcoming Spring" was created by Professor Cao Chunsheng of Jingdezhen Ceramic University, jointly produced by Jingdezhen Art Museum, Ceramic Research Institute and Jingdezhen Ceramic University. The work uses white porcelain clay as the base, integrating blue and white glazes and sculpting techniques. The horse raises its head and gallops through clouds, embodying the auspicious meaning of the Bingwu Year of the Horse, while showcasing the perfect integration of traditional Jingdezhen porcelain craftsmanship and contemporary artistic creation.

To appear on the Spring Festival Gala stage, Jingdezhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports arranged the creation work months in advance. After several months of refinement, 7 design plans and 27 alternative works were launched. Finally, "Blessed Horse Welcoming Spring" stood out with its magnificent shape and exquisite craftsmanship. The work not only shows the artistic height of ceramic sculpture, but also becomes a vivid carrier of the inheritance and innovation of Chinese culture, allowing the world to understand China through ceramics.
